As I was walking down the busy streets of Triplicane, I found this Potti Kadai (petty shop) that was selling my favorite candy when I was a kid, Thaen mittai and that got me thinking how much have I grown since the last time I had most of the things on this article. Here are 6 things that we enjoyed having when we were kids,
Thaen Mittai: This sugar treat made out of rice and urad dal is loved by all.
Kuruvi Roti: Kuruvi Roti are biscuits made especially for children in the shape of elephant, tiger, rabbit and few birds. These biscuits are sweet and crunchy and are very tough to find.
Thengai Biscuit: This type of biscuit is usually available in potti kadais and is the best thing to eat with masala tea.
Javvu Mittai: Not very easily available Javvu Mittai is a sugar coated candy that one chews and a burst of fruity flavor comes.
Kamara Kat: This milk and jaggery sweet will definitely make you miss your childhood. The flavors would just melt in your mouth when you keep chewing it.
