This was another show where the participants could list their favourite Tamil songs. But the format was very different. The anchors travelled. They explored places and explained their uniqueness while we watched in awe. It was a sight to behold for the middle class and made us a little jealous of the anchors too. The two Vijay’s Vijay Adhiraj and Vijay Sarathy gave us joy by interacting with audience and playing their favourite songs. None of the call in song programs of today can match the charm of Neengal Ketta Paadal. Favourite songs and favourite places were a wonderful irresistible combo.
The anchor of the show had to speak fast and have lots of energy and speed to describe the places without taking too much time. Vijay Sarathy won the best anchor award for hosting this show. The show initially started out as a simple meet and greet show where the anchors met the families in their houses to meet them and play their favorite songs. But to avoid middle class and upper class segregation it was moved to a common spot outside and slowly the anchors began to explore the places. Even today despite so many shows and channels we miss our favourite Neengal Ketta Paadal.
