This is the case of a 54-year-old man, who believes that money cannot shake the integrity of some people.
Tanaji Jagdale hails from Sattara, Maharashtra State. He was standing at the bus stand in Tahiwadi on Diwali (Oct 27). The person who came to Tahiwadi for personal work did not have enough money to pay the bus fare to return to his hometown, Pingali. He need 10 rupees to get to town. But he had only 3 rupees. When Tanaji Jackdale stood there, he saw a bag. When he opened the bag he found Rs 40,000. Immediately he enquired with the people around there. There he saw a person who is searching his bag which was missing. The man claimed that he had lost his bag which he had Rs 40,000 for his wife’s surgery.
Tanaji immediately handed the money to that person. The person, who received the money, offered him a Rs.1000. But Tanaji refused and asked for only Rs 7 to go to his hometown. Satara MLA, Shivendraraj Boseale (BJP), praised Tanaji for his honesty. Some other private companies also praised him. Tanaji refused to get any cash prize. Rahul Barge, an American Indian who knew Tanaji’s honesty, offered him a gift of Rs 5 lakh. But Tanaji refused.
On this, Tanaji said, “We cannot live in peace and satisfaction without taking anyone’s money. What I want to say is that by my actions, people should live with integrity.”
