Bus stand collapsed in Coimbatore rural

On Thursday afternoon, four people were killed and more than 10 people were injured when the roof of the bus stand collapsed at Somanur in Coimbatore. Two people are identified out of four who were killed, conductor of TNSTC bus, Sivakumar (35) and third-year college student Dharani (20).

According to the reports, this incident took place around 2:00 PM and more than 20 people were trapped under the roof which collapsed along with the front portion of the TNSTC bus. Seven are injured who are being treated at Coimbatore Medical College Hospital out of which TNSTC driver Shanmugham (45) is also been treated. The other five are been treated at a private hospital. Currently, they are rescuing others with the help of fire and rescue personnel and public. More than 10 ambulances are helping the people who are injured to reach the hospital.

For the last one week, Somanur has been receiving heavy showers.
