A 31-year-old debt-ridden woman in Salem, Tamilnadu was on the verge of ending her life with her three kids, but fate intervened and thanks to some good-hearted people, she has a different story now. As per the reports, Prema’s husband committed suicide seven months ago and left her neck-deep in debt.
He decided to take the drastic step after being cheated on a loan for Rs 2.5 lakh, that had been sanctioned to him to set up a business. When the debts start to pile up over her It became increasingly difficult for Prema to fend for her three children – she approached every person she knew, seeking help.
As nobody turned for her but came up with excuse everytime she couldn’t push it further. Dejectedly she attempted to kill herself consuming arali seeds. Fortunately, her sister stopped her from consuming says the guy who posted about Prema’s plight on social media, was quoted as saying in the report. Bala also helped her get financial support through crowdfunding.
When she narrated her whole story, I wanted to help her recover completely. I didn’t want to stop with just giving her money as it was a temporary solution. I wanted a permanent solution for her. My friend Bala and I decided to post her story on Facebook and urge people for help,” he said.
“I am so overwhelmed by the support of people. I will never even think of committing suicide again. I want to give a good education to my children and take them out of this penury,” says Prema.
