The International Film Festival of India 2018 (IFFI) will be held in Goa from November 20 to November 28. Movies from different regions in India and abroad are screened at the event. This year, around 190 feature films are going to be screened at IFFI. Four Tamil films will also be screened at the festival, including the popular Pariyerum Perumal. Pa. Ranjith, who produced Pariyerum Perumal tweeted about the selection.
Along with Pariyerum Perumal, which has been directed by Mari Selvaraj, Peranbu directed by Ram, Tolet directed by Chezhiyan and Baaram directed by Siva Chelvan will be screened at IFFI. Among these four films, only Pariyerum Perumal has already seen a theatrical release and did well at the box office.
Interestingly, Mari Selvaraj has worked as an assistant director with Ram on movies like Thanga Meengal and Tharamani. This will be the first time both Ram and Mari Selvaraj will screen their respective films at the same event.
Organised by the Films Division, Government of India, IFFI first started in 1952 under the patronage of the first Prime Minister of India, Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru. Over the years, the festival has garnered immense attention and popularity.
