The world’s biggest league cricket is marching towards its end and we have two more days left in the kitty to decide which team will take the final spot to qualify for the playoffs.
Chennai Super Kings became the first team to qualify and Delhi Capitals, Mumbai Indians followed them. Now, with one more spot left, there are four teams fight for the same.
We have four matches still to go and this will decide the fate of the teams.
Now, here are the matches left:
Match 53 – DC vs RR in Delhi, Match 54 – RCB vs SRH in Bengaluru, Match 55 – KXIP vs CSK, Match 56 – MI vs KKR in Mumbai
A win will not be enough for the team as they have to wait for the result of KKR vs MI and pray that KKR loses or at least doesn’t win by a huge margin. Their net run-rate will come in handy here. Also, a loss here will make it easy for KKR, as they just need a win irrespective of the margin.
They need to win their final match to stand a chance of making it to the top four and hope that the other teams in the contention- SRH, KKR- fail.
Since they play their last match late, they will know what they exactly need from the match. If SRH wins on Saturday, they need to win MI by a huge margin and if SRH loses, a win against MI will see them through. If they lose the final match, if SRH won the game the other night, SRH will go through. If SRH lost the game, the place will be decided based on net run rate of the team.
They theoretically still holds a chance if all the other teams fail by a major margin and if they can beat CSK by a hefty margin.
