Most of us living in Chennai know what the city (and we) are going through – Namma Chennai is running out of the water.
India’s top most metro city Chennai which has physically run out of the water. Once filled with wetlands,
it now faces a shortage of one of the most precious commodities essential to sustain life on Earth.
The water that’s supplied to all the homes in Chennai comes from private or Government water tankers that draw water out from bore wells.
Earlier, the bore wells were dug at feet of 300 feet, which gradually kept on increasing.The groundwater level in Chennai is dropping rapidly, this water crisis seems to be one that will pose a major issue for the citizens.
As being the citizens of our country it’s our duty to save water and here are some ways through which water scarcity can be reduced
1. Use water for household work only when needed.
2. Shut the tap when you wash the vessels.
3. Don’t waste water for unnecessary usage.
If we don’t save water then who will?

We did not take the initiative to conserve water and that is why we are facing such a severe water crisis.
