Trisha has finally reached the stage in her career where she can pick and choose women centric roles. She started her career as the typical girl next door and it was image which suited her perfectly as she repeated it so many films and became successful. But everything changed after she played Jessie in Vinnaithandi Varuvaya. People started taking her seriously and she made it even better by playing the villain in Dhanush’s Kodi. She had to wait for years to play such a role and it paid rich dividends. But Trisha had one more surprise up her sleeve with the memorable Jaanu from 96.
There are speculations that Trisha might be a part of the Tamil remake of Badla which stars Taapsee and Amitabh Bachchan in the lead role. It is an investigation thriller which earned critical acclaim and is successful in Bollywood box office right now. It is only apt that a star like Trisha opts to be part of this remake. She is also part of Garjanai which is a remake of Anushka Sharma’s NH10. Now the remake of Taapsee’s film is also on the cards. Incidentally Trisha was the first choice for Vetrimaran’s Aadukalam which later went on to become Taapsee’s first film.
Radha Mohan might direct this remake. He had earlier directed the remake of Vidya Balan’s Tumhari Sulu with Jyothika in the lead which is titled as Kaatrin Mozhi. If Trisha and Radha Mohan do join hands it will be their second collaboration after Abhiyum Naanum. Abhiyum Naanum is still remembered as one of the best father- daughter films in Tamil Cinema. The bonding between Prakash Raj and Trisha was top notch and Trisha was perfect as the daughter. If Radha Mohan does direct this film it will be a new genre for him as he is known more for feel good films.
