The second single of Sarvam Thaala Mayam is out and the first thing that strikes us is Chinmayi’s soulful voice. Her voice is just a beautiful fit for the lovely lyrics that flows through the song. When ARR and Chinmayi join hands it is magic as always. The voice flows seamlessly. It is the yearning of a girl for the man she loves and adores. The tone is consistent which adds to the song’s instant appeal. The lyrics are beautiful almost like a fitting follow up to the magic of 96 where Chinmayi was the soul of the film from start to finish.
Chinmayi’s voice has a timeless appeal. Here she takes us on a dreamy trip filled with love. The song lingers long after you are done listening. In a way Sarvam Thaala Mayam is bringing back the A.R Rahman we adored in the 90’s. It’s a wonderful trip to those innocent childhood days when all we knew was A.R Rahman and his soulful track. Rajiv Menon has brought back the blessing that ARR was to the 90’s kids and for that, we are eternally grateful. We often use the term Slow poison when referring to ARR’s song. This one is honey, Beautiful and soulful.
There’s another plus to the magical Maya. Na Muthukumar. The depth of this man’s words brings the song to life. What a talent we have lost to fate. But this is a wonderful last note from the pen of Na Muthukumar. Maya Maya is here to stay as one of the best tracks of the year. It will be interesting to see the visuals of this song. The gorgeous Aparna Balamurali in this song might just bring the right emotions on the screen along with G.V Prakash who has found a new lease of life with Sarvam Thaala Mayam. Let’s wait and watch.
