Two friends Vineeth and Abbas fall in love with the same girl without each other’s knowledge and there are some interesting twists and turns as both the guys try to win their girl. Neither of us had any idea of the ending that was in store for us as the gorgeous Tabu completely takes over the climax and delivers a moving monologue on friendship. Sillunu Oru Kadhal : This is a wonderful movie on second chances in life. Once again this film is lifted by A. R Rahman’s genius touch. The movie stresses on the importance of letting go of the past and living in the present. Suriya is paired with both Bhumika and his real life wife Jyothika. Suriya and Jyothika are the ideal husband and wife but the past comes back in Suriya’s life but the ending is beautiful as the husband and wife fall in love after letting go of the past. It is a blissful union.
Minnale : Once again we have Abbas in a love triangle. The guy at the other end is Madhavan. The movie signalled the arrival of two wonderful creators in Gautham Vasudev Menon and Harris Jeyaraj. Vaseegara was a storm which took everyone by surprise. Madhavan forges his identity to win over his lady love as the good guy looses. But then all is fair in love and war. Vivek’s comedy in the film is a riot as he keeps us in splits.
Ninaithen Vandhai : This film is one of the sweetest love triangles from a woman’s perspective. Devayani was in fine form in the film as she falls hopelessly in love with a man who isn’t her own. Rambha is the other heroine. This is one of few times when we saw sisters falling for the same man. For Vijay it was a wonderful addition to his softer lover boy roles which he was playing at that time.
