In the early 90’s there were so many anchors whom we fell in love with. It is these anchors who made the shows very lively and lovable. Let’s look at the top 5 anchors and TV hosts who ruled television.
Pepsi Uma : She started anchoring the show when she was a teenager and gradually won us over in all those years. Pepsi Ungal choice was a favourite show for so many of us. We loved it and eagerly waited for the Ungal choice song of the week. She was elegant and graceful as we kept on hearing keep trying keep on trying every week.
Visu : Before Gopinath there was Visu who was fiery and lively in one of the longest running debate shows of all time – Arattai Arangam. A major highlight is the switch between humour and seriousness at various points for the show. Visu was perfect as the people’s man.
Anu Hassan : Before DD hosted Coffee with DD. It was Anu who actually gave the show a lively start. She was very knowledgeable and knew what to ask her guests. DD in fact had big shoes to fill once she took over from Anu Hassan. Replicating Anu Hassan’s poise and knowledge in films is impossible.
Vijay Sarathy : At one point even I was jealous of Vijay Sarathy. We all were as he went from one place to another in Neengal Keta Padal. He was jovial and gave us a lot of information about places along with our favourite songs.
Suresh Kumar : He has been the host of Top 10 movies for a very long time. His command over the language is astonishing as he still holds the anchor’s spot for one of the longest running shows on television. He spoke with ease and knew what to do to hold the viewer’s attention.
