The Indian all-rounder Vijay Shankar is the latest to join the injury list (again) as he was hit by a toe-crusher from Jasprit Bumrah on Wednesday. The pacer Bumrah who prefers to bowl to the batsman while training rather than just having the boots was seen practising alongside Vijay Shankar and the latter injured his toes while defending Bumrah’s yorker on Wednesday ahead of Afghanistan clash.
Vijay Shankar then went on to skip the training session the next day and that aggravated the news of his injury.
However, BCCI tweeted a video of Vijay Shankar practising on Thursday evening proves that his injury isn’t as hard as one would have expected. Even Bumrah while attending the press conference said that “Vijay Shankar will be okay soon”.
Hopefully, the all-rounder recovers in time as India has already lost Shikhar Dhawan and Bhuvneshwar Kumar is out for at least two games. India will take on Afghanistan next on Saturday
