Since the motor vehicle amendment bill came into effect, there have been laments from the side of violaters. The amendments imposed heavy fines on those who break the traffic rules. This rule was validated on September 1 and within a week, lakhs of money has been gathered across the country. It costed an arm and a led for the people who left without their helmets and who had no license/ vehicle registration documents. In that regard, Madan from Delhi paid Rs.23,000 for riding two-wheeler without relevant documents.
‘The scooter I drove was worth 15,000. Yet, I was fined for Rs.23,000’, Madan said. And, yes, the amendment irked many despite some appreciations it received. In a similar incident at Bihar, Kamal Kumar was fined Rs.11,000, a few days ago. Roshan Kumar, a police inspector fined Kamal, as he violated the traffic rule. Usually, Kamal passes by Roshan Kumar’s residence. The next day, Kamal waited for Roshan Kumar’s arrival.
Kamal engaged in an argument with the inspector Roshan who had not worn a helmet. As the argument heated up, the passersby captured a video of it. The officer pulled over Kamal Kumar’s shirt and lashed out with harsh words. After the video went viral, officer Roshan Kumar who rode the vehicle without any helmet was suspended. In another video, looking at a police officer who was seen driving his two-wheeler without any helmet on, a man asks ‘Brother, where’s the helmet?’. And, the police was seen to drive fast, turning his vehicle back. This video has also become viral.
